In 2000, Peace on the Move, Inc. was founded by Pastor Tyrone E. Barnette of Peace Baptist Church currently located in Decatur, Georgia.
As a premier social service provider, we are dedicated to tackling food insecurity, housing insecurity, and other critical issues affecting the Decatur metropolitan area.
Why Our Work Matters
The 30032 zip code and the Covington Highway I-285 corridor in Decatur, GA, face significant challenges, including food and housing insecurity, as well as concerns impacting overall health and child welfare.
Food Insecurity: Many families in the area rely on food assistance programs due to low median household incomes ($54,917) and a 12.9% unemployment rate, especially among Black and African American residents. This has led to widespread food insecurity and hardship.
